David Koretz Biography

bio photo of KoretzDavid Koretz is a serial entrepreneur who founded four companies by the age of 19. His most recent venture is BlueTie.

BlueTie, Inc. is a developer of collaboration Software as a Service for more than 3,000,000 users worldwide. In 2006, BlueTie launched a platform for monetizing Web-based applications called Featuretisements™ that has revolutionized in-application advertising. Featuretisements was awarded the AdTech “2007 B2B Transaction Website of the year,” and received a four star award from PC Magazine.

Under the leadership of Mr. Koretz, BlueTie has received industry accolades including being a Forbes Magazine “Best of the Web” company three years in a row, one of the top four Websites in the world for small businesses. BlueTie was a 2008 AlwaysOn Top 100 Company, a winner of the Hewlett Packard Garage Program, and won the 2007 Ad-Tech ‘Best B2B Transaction Website’ Award.

At 14 years old, Mr. Koretz founded his first company, Compucepts, a distributor of consumer electronics. During his tenure at Compucepts, Mr. Koretz established relationships with over 125 manufacturers worldwide, and grew Compucepts into one of the top ten CE distributors in the US.

In 1999 at 19 years old, Teen People Magazine selected Mr. Koretz as one of “20 Teens Who Will Change the World." In 2004, Mr. Koretz was a winner of the "40 Under 40 Award," and in 2005 Digital Rochester named David a "Rising Star."

A native of Rochester, New York, Mr. Koretz has been featured in hundreds of media outlets, including Forbes, Inc., The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, and The View..

Mr. Koretz currently serves as a Board Member of Earthlink, BlueTie, Venture Creations, and RIT School of Computing. He is a monthly columnist in Media Post, and an occasional contributor to Silicon Alley insider.

In his free time, Mr. Koretz races BMW cars and has raced in Cannonball Run - One Lap of America, a 5,000-mile road race around America. He is a mountain climber that has climbed two of the 7 Summits, an avid world traveler, and a frequent speaker about entrepreneurship and the future of technology.
